Founded in 2001, Reliance General Insurance is non life insurance company headquartered in Mumbai. Reliance General Product Portfolio:
Motor Insurance: Motor Insurance provides cover for loss or damage to the vehicle as well as protects against third part liability. Reliance provides motor insurance for both car and two wheelers. Both can be purchased online.

Travel Insurance: These policies provide cover in case you are employed or travelling abroad. The typical coverage includes medical expenses, dental expenses, loss of passport or baggage, personal accident and many more. Travel Insurance plans of Reliance General are Reliance Pravasi Bhartiya Bima Yojana Insurance Policy, Reliance Travel Care Insurance Policy – Asia, Reliance Travel Care Insurance Policy for Individuals and Families and Reliance Travel Care Insurance Policy – Schengen. Reliance has special plan for students travelling abroad for higher education. Most of these products can be purchased online.
Accident Cover Insurance: This provides cover in case policyholder is involved in injurious accident and suffers from disability or death.

Financial Information:
The total premium earned for the half year ended September 30, 2010 was Rs 5,641 million. The profit before tax for the same period is Rs 668 million. A total of 169,710 claims were made during the period out of which 83,043 claims were settled and 5,379 were rejected.
