Established in 2000, IFFCO TOKIO is non life insurance company headquartered in Gurgaon. IFFCO TOKIO is joint venture between the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Co-operative (IFFCO) – largest producer of fertilizers, its associates and TOKIO Marine and Nichido Fire group- Japan’s largest listed insurance group.
While IFFCO holds 72.64% equity, 26% is owned by TOKIO Marine group and the rest by IFFCO associates.
IFFCO General Insurance Product Portfolio:
Motor Insurance: Motor Insurance provides cover for loss or damage to the vehicle as well as protects against third part liability.
Health Insurance: This policy covers medical related expenses like surgical expenses, organ transplantation expenses etc. IFFCO TOKIO has Individual Medishield and Swasthya Kavach health insurance plans. Critical Illness policy is also available.
Travel Insurance: IFFCO TOKIO has flexible range of travel insurance plans which have different coverage options like medical expenses, loss of passport, personal accident, personal liability, finanacial emergency etc.
Personal Accident: This provides cover in case policyholder is involved in injurious accident and suffers from disability or death.
Distribution Network:
IFFCO being an agricultural based company has penetrated rural areas as well as urban areas. IFFCO TOKIO has its presence across the country with 57 “Strategic business units”, 100 lateral spread centres and 280 Bima Kendras.

Financial Information:
The total premium earned for the half year ended September 30, 2010 was Rs 5,239 million. The profit before tax for the same period is Rs 191 million. A total of 198,275 claims were made during the period out of which 115,148 claims were settled and rest of claims are yet to be settled.
