What is Domiciliary Hospitalization:

Domiciliary Hospitalization basically means hospitalization at home. Typically, Health Insurance covers the medical expenses if the insured is hospitalized. However there might be mitigating circumstances wherein hospitalization is not possible because of

  1. Delicate condition of the patient and
  2. Lack of accommodation in the hospital.

If the medical treatment requires more than three days, domiciliary hospitalization can be availed. The treatment is dispensed at home and the medical expenses are covered by the insurer subject to the maximum cover taken by the insured.
